Hi, I am Gustavo F. Tondello! I am a Gamification Consultant, Sessional Lecturer, and Ph.D. Student at the University of Waterloo, Canada, under supervision of Dr. Lennart Nacke and Dr. Daniel Vogel. I am member of the Games Institute and the HCI Games Group. Rise’s Gamification Gurus Power 100 leaderboard has ranked me one of the top Gamification leaders in the world. My main interests include gamification, and games for health and learning. My research focuses on the design of gameful applications. My background includes a M.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Information Systems from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Before coming to Canada, I worked for several years as a Software Engineer in Brazil. I am also a researcher of Logosophy, and I am affiliated to the Logosophical Foundation of Brazil and of the USA.
The Gameful Bits blog is a space where I will share my thoughts on Gamification and Gameful Design, the results of my research, and other relevant information to academics and professionals interested in these topics.
